Welcome to Rowan Class

We are one of the youngest classes in the Connections Pathway. We offer a naturalistic learning environment which entices our learners to fall in love with the social world. All learning activities offer an irresistible invitation to engage, providing plentiful opportunities to socially communicate.

Rowan Class are typically social partners within the SCERTS framework; using their body language, facial expressions, gestures and objects to communicate and sensory behavioral strategies to regulate. There are often some emerging and early language partners who are learning to communicate using single pictures or symbols, single words and brief phrases.

The main focuses for development in Rowan Class are: Social Communication, Emotional Regulation, Play Skills, Attention and Readiness to Learn.

The Adults in Rowan Class are:

Throughout the year we theme our learning on interest-based topics, cause and effect, seasons and special occasions.
