Hawthorns in the Community
On this page you will see activities that the children have taken part in, within the local community.

Holocaust Memorial Day 2023
Hawthorns school was one of six special school in Tameside who have worked collaboratively, with the Lakes Care Centre in Dukinfield to create an art installation to commemorate the Holocaust (1933 – 1945), with the support of Tameside Arts and Cultural services. The installation brings the children’s creative thoughts on the Holocaust to life, in the form of a mannequin of Anne Frank made with extracts from her famous diaries. The art installation has been called “Every Voice Matters” For more information about the art installation, click here

Children from across the school, including our Eco council took part in litter-picking during the Great British Spring Clean. The area for this particular litter-pick was in Guide Bridge.
