An Update from Mr Curtis (26.9.25)

Today is National Teaching Assistant day!

It's important that we share with you all the amazing work that’s done every day by our amazing Teaching Assistants. At Hawthorns we are very lucky to have such a dedicated, creative, energetic, knowledgeable, kind and fun team.

Without them we (as teachers, support staff, SLT and families) would absolutely not be able to support the children in the ways we do.

Please join us in celebrating their fantastic work! We put some additional snacks in the staff room and had a “3 words” to describe each TA on the staff room wall.

This half term we’ve been very busy in outdoor education - working with Miss Cottrell. We've been working at school and in the community.

You can see our ‘twig’ pile home for mini beasts on Meadow Wood, children choosing and buying spring bulbs and seed potatoes and water sampling in the River Etherow on World Rivers’ Day.

We've also held another Coffee Morning for families led by parents and for all families to attend – every Wednesday 9.30am.

Please also note that it is Parents Evening on Tuesday 7th October.

Have a great weekend

Jonathan
