COVID -19 September school return information

We are really looking forward to welcoming all our young people back to school for the start of the new term. Our staff have been working tirelessly over the summer to write risk assessments and prepare the building to ensure the safest possible return for all our young people and staff.

We have put together a comprehensive document which we hope will answer many of the questions you may have, please click the link below Hawthorns COVID – 19 Operational Guidance to read it:

As well as our operational guidance we have included two more documents that you may like to read – Tameside transport risk assessment and Hawthorns school COVID -19 risk assessment.

As our guidance document explains, at the start of term we will be following a recovery curriculum using the underpinning principles of Barry and Matthew Carpenter’s approach, The Recovery Curriculum. Barry Carpenter has worked with Books Beyond Words to publish two stories which can help children make sense of their experiences during the coronavirus pandemic, communicate their feelings and prepare for more change as they go back to the classroom.
