Welcome to Poplar Class
We are a Key Stage 2 , Connections Pathway class at Hawthorns Wild Bank Provision. We love to learn through interactive, hands-on and multi-sensory experiences. We work in a highly sensory considerate environment. We use the SCERTS framework to support pupils to develop their social communication and emotional regulation. Our key priorities are supporting pupils to use their communication for a range of social purposes, supporting our pupils to learn how to regulate and remain regulated and happy throughout the school day, and learning how to use our transactional supports to request things we might want and need!

As well as developing our communication and regulation skills, we also cover a wide range of exciting topics to expand our interests in the world around us. Topics are interest based! All sessions are hands on and engaging to ensure pupils develop a love for learning. Each session is differentiated to the individual child just ensure learning is meaning and purposeful to all.

Parent App
Hawthorns school now has a parent app (PA Connect) The app is now the school’s main way of communication. This reduces the amount of paper we use as an Eco School. All letters, newsletters and important message will be sent directly to your phone or tablet via the app. Parents and carers can also update changes in emergency contact numbers that we have on our systems for your child.
