Margaret Ramsbottom

I am the interim Chair of Governors at Spring Brook Academy.

Margaret RamsbottomI became a governor at New Bridge School following the amalgamation of Park Dean, Hilltop, and Marland Fold Schools. I was also Chair of Governors at Spring Brook School for over 15 years. I am now a Trustee of the MAT, a Safeguarding Trustee and I sit on the Pay Committee and the Disciplinary Committee.

After working in a bank from leaving school, I retrained as a teacher and was employed by Oldham as an Adult Education teacher for Fashion, Pattern Cutting and Crafts and in that capacity I taught people of different abilities within that curriculum. I became Curriculum Manager for Food, Fashion and Arts and Crafts and I developed and managed the curriculum to City & Guilds standards.

Since retirement I have continued to enjoy hobbies in craft based subjects and currently lead a group for sewing based crafts at a community centre.

I believe that we never stop learning and feel passionately that our children and young people should be given every opportunity to develop their skills to be the best they can and reach their full potential to be whatever they dream of becoming.
