Geography and History

At Hawthorns, Geography and History is taught to provide an opportunity for students to develop their understanding of people and the world around them. It is taught by giving the students practical experiences and learning opportunities within a range of interesting and inspiring topics. These are changed termly or half termly to cover a range of subject areas and skills across the whole curriculum.

Within History, students will explore the past, including their own past, events and people within and beyond their living memory. Within, Geography, students will explore the world and the people around them. They will develop an awareness and interest of their own surroundings and beyond.
