Enrichment Pathway
Holly and Beech
Each Class has a bespoke curriculum that is meaningful and purposeful to the children within it. The curriculums are completely flexible and will change and adapt to the children’s needs and interests while keeping a keen focus on specific areas of development. Each child has a Personal Learning Plan which maps out children’s targets in line with their EHCPs and how the development of these skills will be facilitated by carefully matched supports. Each child also has a wellbeing profile which identifies key supports for each child to promote and maintain positive wellbeing in the areas of social and emotional, physical and sensory, environmental, educational and communication.
Within the Enrichment Model we use aspects of the EQUALS Semi-Formal curriculum. This allows us to use a range of curriculum areas pulled together under three headings. All of our curriculum areas fall into;
Communication:
Imitation, play, Attention, Social Communication, reading, writing, phonics.
Thinking Skills:
Number, SSM, problem solving.
Personal and Social Development:
Play, Emotional Regulation, Attention, independent living skills
Each child’s curriculum is personalised depending on what is meaning full and relevant to their developmental stage, for example; under communication a child may have imitation, play and Social communication in their personalised curriculum where as another child may have phonics, reading and collaborative play.
