Emotional Regulation
Buds, Rose, Cherry, Blossom develops a personalised curriculum using the SCERTS model. Conversational language and emotional regulation are key areas for development for this group of learners. Children will also be developing skills to be actively engaged and be able to adapt to different situations. The individual’s ability to regulate emotional arousal so they are more able to attend to, process and filter environmental and sensory information is a key focus for development. In SCERTS emotional regulation is addressed in two areas; Mutual-Regulation and Self-Regulation. This group of learners will also be supported to develop from early language partners to higher language partners to early conversation partners within a semi-formal/formal curriculum.
